Directions
Burger Prep
Prep burger patties by placing ground beef and pork in a large bowl and seasoning with salt, pepper, Angelic Devil Seasoning and Cask-Strength Spicy Whiskey BBQ Sauce
Massage and combine beef mixture until thoroughly combined, being careful not to over mix — separate the meat mixture into four equal portions and roll each portion into a ball
Place on a lined baking sheet and refrigerate for at least thirty minutes
While burgers are marinating, prep additional toppings by preparing bacon according to package instructions and setting aside until further use
Caramelized Onion
Thinly slice onion and set aside
In a medium-sized skillet on medium-high heat, add one tsp of butter
Saute onions until soft, translucent, and browned
During the cooking process, add water (3 tbsp at a time) to help with the cooking process as the onions begin to stick to the pan
Once onions are caramelized, set aside until further use
Burger Prep Continued
In a cast iron skillet or large frying pan, place remaining butter on medium to high heat
Remove marinated burgers from the fridge
Once the pan reaches heat level, add burger balls to the pan and begin searing
Utilizing a spatula, flatten burger balls until round and in the shape of a burger patty
Sear patties for 5-7 minutes (being careful not to disturb)
Flip patties only once and when burger patties have reached desired cooking temperature, place sliced cheddar cheese on top — then remove from heat
Set cooked burger patties on a cooling rack or lined plate with paper towels
Burger Prep Assembly
Beginning with the bottom of the pretzel bun, drizzle Cask-Strength Spicy Whiskey BBQ Sauce on top of the bun and add arugula
Next, add cooked burger patty and top with two bacon slices
Top with crunchy onions, an additional drizzle of BBQ sauce, and more arugula if desired
For best results, serve immediately
